Our home care agency is seeking a CNA, HHA, or GNA to join our growing team in Leonardtown, MD! You will work one-on-one with senior clients in their homes to execute a personalized care plan that strives to enhance their overall health, happiness and quality of life. You will provide in-home support for daily tasks as well as personal care to ensure the senior’s non-medical needs are met and their goals are carried out.

CNA/HHA/GNA Responsibilities:

• Establish open communication and develop friendly relationships with seniors and their families
• Help seniors with daily tasks such as light housekeeping and organization
• Provide laundry and linen service to include washing, ironing and folding clothes
• Accompany seniors to the grocery store, doctor appointments and pharmacy visits
• Prepare and serve meals and/or snacks
• Provide grooming and dressing guidance
• May remind client of medications
• Organize transportation, ambulation, and transfers
• Encourage activity and movement
• Inspire a positive, can-do attitude when it comes to daily tasks, appointments, and hobbies
• Maintain a trusting and comforting environment in the home
• Record and report changes in the client’s physical condition, behavior or appearance
• Document services delivered in accordance with agency policies and procedures
   

CNA/HHA/GNA Qualifications:

• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA), Home Health Aide (HHA) license or at least 2 years of professional caregiving experience
• Minimum high school diploma or GED required
• Excellent business and personal references
• Valid driver's license, automobile insurance and reliable transportation for potential client errands and appointment trips as needed
• Genuinely concerned about helping people
• High morale standards of honesty and integrity
• Satisfactorily complete Comfort Keepers training and orientation program
• Current CPR and First Aid certification
• Lifting only up to 25 pounds is permitted and may be required

Applicant must be bondable and pass the minimum qualifications for each of the following background checks: Criminal Background Investigation, Motor Vehicle Driving Record, Credit History and business and personal references and give permission to submit to random drug and alcohol testing.

May provide any additional duties that the Caregiver has been trained in and is determined to be competent in, as long as those duties fall within the Maryland licensing regulations for Personal Assistance Services. Contact with blood or other body fluids may pose a risk for exposure to blood borne pathogens.

This position is located at our Dunkirk Office, located at 10351 Southern Maryland Blvd #201, Dunkirk, MD20754.

Our office serves the surrounding areas St. Mary’s, Calvert, Charles, Lower Anne Arundel and Prince George’s counties in Maryland. Current openings include client assignments in the Upper Marlboro, Chesapeake Beach, Huntingtown, Davidsonville, Largo and Bowie, MD areas for a variety of days and hours for someone with the right background and experience.
